Saki Macozoma
Mr. Macozoma is a prominent South African businessman, being a major shareholder and deputy Chairman of Safika, an empowerment investment holding company.
He spent five years on Robben Island after conviction for political activism. He was active in the Mass Democratic Movement in the 1980s and later in the United Democratic Front. He has served on the ANC’s National Executive Committee since 1991, and was a Member of Parliament from 1994-1996. In 1997, he was appointed Managing Director of the state transport entity, Transnet. Mr. Macozoma serves on the governing bodies of Rhodes and Witwatersrand Universities, and chairs various important financial institutions.
