Tokyo Sexwale
Mr. Sexwale is a prominent South African businessman, having left politics to establish mining and energy house, Mvelephanda Holdings in 1998. Prior to this, he had served the ANC in various capacities, including as a member of the National Executive Committee. He became the first Premier of the Gauteng Province in 1994.
From an early age Mr. Sexwale was active in student politics, eventually going into exile and receiving military training in the Soviet Union. After returning to South Africa, he was arrested for "terrorism" and spent 13 years on Robben Island. He serves on the board of several major South African companies and has received many awards, including the French Legion of Honour.
